The renovation and alteration of an existing 15,000 square foot light industrial building carved out distinct areas for roasting, warehousing and logistics operations, business offices, staff kitchen, tasting room, and expansive common areas for public engagement such as art installations, all with a modern, accessible, and clean aesthetic. The business offices feature an innovative open plan, with multi-panel glass sliders for the private offices. The egalitarian layout allows all of the employees access to the window wall, while the operable glass sliders allow that light to penetrate deep into the private office spaces. When open, the sliders promote collaboration and team building. When closed, they provide acoustical privacy. Within the building envelope, we also established separate spaces for two other businesses: one a recycling company on the mezzanine and the other a woodworking shop for area craftspeople.
